At Interigual we’re going to give you some tips to help you learn Spanish vocabulary faster and easier for you – you can do it! You are already reading about how to increase your vocabulary, that means you are on the right track. Many students have basic knowledge of Spanish grammar, but when they try to use their knowledge they encounter the obstacle of vocabulary, they can’t remember the vocabulary, they can’t find the necessary words at the moment. This is because students often concentrate on grammar and do not understand that vocabulary is just as important. The important thing is to know how to combine grammar and vocabulary in the right way.
1. WHAT YOU KNOW IN SPANISH.
Even if you are not aware of it, we know a lot of Spanish words unconsciously. Spanish is everywhere, think of names of restaurants, foods, slogans, streets, cities, names of celebrities, etc.
We also have many loans, are words that passed from one language to another with very slight changes, “siesta”, “iguanas” or “mosquitos”, are some words that you use in English and that are borrowed from Spanish.
In fact, to begin with, you know more words than you think.
2. USE MEMORY CARDS.
All Spanish teachers recommend vocabulary cards to learn a language, but no one makes or uses these cards, writing the cards is old and boring.
Currently, there are programs where you can place the vocabulary you are learning in class, those programs have a series of activities to practice with that new vocabulary. If you are one of those methodical and wonderful students that every Spanish teacher dreams of, we encourage you to do so.
3. GET SERIOUS!
The most important thing to learn vocabulary is to read, read and read. Read a newspaper in Spanish, read the subtitles of your favorite series or movies, use the dictionaries on your phone, read what you like but read in Spanish. This will make your vocabulary grow quickly and help you remember words that you will forget over time.
4. PUT IT INTO PRACTICE.
Yes!, the most important thing to remember the vocabulary is to put it into practice in your Spanish classes with Interigual. Remember that one hour speaking Spanish is enough to use a lot of vocabulary and remember everything you have learned with your homework.
5. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT YOU LEARN IN SPANISH.
The work, the studies, you never have time to put them with the tasks so you put yourself in the hands of Interigual, your confidence in our teachers, but you are really responsible for what you learn and the speed with which you learn. If you put our advice into action you will soon be able to communicate fluently in Spanish.
You can ask some of our students, they can attest to what we say.
